'Bigger' Event for Young People was a success
As part of Keyfund’s ‘Big, Bigger Biggest’ project, groups of young people supported by an organisation or project, were invited to apply for funding to run their own local event with young people. Up to £3000 was available for 5 events.
The 5 winning Groups were...
Mish Mash (in association with Jack Drum Arts) - based in Durham. Mish Mash planned, organised and ran an arts festival with stimulating arts-based explorations and responses to Young Peoples issues in a festival format.
North East Council on Addictions (NECA) - based in Darlington. NECA developed a film to convey life routes and consequences of actions, using substance misuse as the impetus.
JUST Unicycle club - based in Stockton on Tees. JUST planned and hosted the British Unicycle convention which doubled as a social event to promote ‘things to do for youth’ and healthy activities for Young People.
Young Peoples Got Talent - based in Newcastle. This event will be a Dance based talent platform showcasing local dance groups and a fashion show. The event is at the Centre for Life on Saturday the 5th June from 17:30 until 21:00, tickets are £1.50 for adults and £1.00 for Young People. For details call 07753822585
Bishop Auckland College - based in South West Durham. The group organised a free Anti-Bullying event for students to create awareness. The event was music themed.
All groups have worked extrememly hard and delivered fantastic projects so well done to you all !!!
