Fairytale ending for the Royal Wedding Gift Fund
Article by Rossie Ashton
St James' Palace announces that the fund has raised over £1,058,367 to benefit the 26 charities, including Keyfund, personally selected by Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
The Royal Couple has announced they are delighted that their Royal Wedding Gift Fund has achieved over £1m from donations and revenue from wedding related projects. Keyfund is lucky enough to benefit from a share of this to continue its work with young people.
The Royal Couple chose Keyfund as it has a real resonance with them and reflects issues in which they are particularly interested. They recognise that Keyfund undertakes excellent work within communities and is a charity which seeks to make a real difference in today’s world.
With our share of the fund, Keyfund will expand its reach to more young people and develop the quality of its work. We will consult with our stakeholders to ensure we continue to support them in the most effective way to meet our objectives.
Hannah Eyres, Keyfund CEO said “We’re all so excited about what we can achieve with this new found support and the impact we can have on the lives of young people. We were so honoured and delighted to be chosen by TRH The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to share in this forward thinking endeavour and to mark such a special occasion.”
Below is a radio clip of Rossie Ashton, Partner Support Manager, speaking to Jonathan Miles at BBC Newcastle, explaining how helpful the money will be to Keyfund, and introducing Jessica Tait, a young person benefitting from Keyfund.
