Case Study
Evolvers
Shane, Adam, Zoe and Beccy
Shane, Adam, Zoe and Beccy together are known as ‘The Evolvers’. They wanted to undertake a project that would enable the whole group at Ripon Evolve to have fun and experience something new. The group worked along-side Keyfund Facilitator, Stef Pickard from the NYCC, Youth Support Service to gain £250 in funding to make their project happen. After lots of discussions and hard work developing the 12 Keyfund skills they agreed to visit the World Heritage site of Fountains Abbey & Studley Royal. The group pitched their project ideas to the Keyfund Panel; the panel were able to find out how the group developed their ideas.
Paul Chapman, Youth Worker and Keyfund Panel Member said “After the presentations the group were successful in obtaining the £250 and praised for the hard work they had put in to the project so far one condition of the funding was to encourage the group to take photographic records to capture the day”.
Shane Ashe, group member said “Keyfund has helped me out loads; it has helped me to discover what I can achieve”.
Ripon Evolve suits a wide range of young people. It offers support in making decisions for the future and helps young people aged 16-19 to find something that is perfect for them. Through group and one to one work students are able to achieve qualifications that are individual to their needs and gain valuable experiences through volunteering and community projects.
